Home - Welcome to Out Aloud
‘Out
Aloud’ is Sheffield’s first Gay Choir and it enables
members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities in
Sheffield to come together and enjoy singing.
This choir is open to everyone and no auditions are needed. You don’t need to be an experienced singer or read music. If you can carry a tune you can join the Choir. All songs are taught by ear but you will have the option to learn from written music if you wish.
Currently the Choir has over 50 members made up of both beginners and experienced singers. The only requirements for joining the choir are that you are a member of the lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender community, that you can carry a tune and that you are 16 or over.
You’re welcome to come to one or two sessions for free and see if you would like to join. If you do decide to join there is a fee each term (on a sliding scale).
The Choir is led by Val Regan, the Musical Director who works in accordance with the principles of the Natural Voice Practitioners Network. The Choir meets every Wednesday evening during the school term between 7.15pm – 9.30pm.
